My research interests center around race, identity, and childhood — What shapes the people we become? What aspects of our lives affect how we identify and the way we perceive that identity? Overall, I’m interested in how this intersects with media, literature, and material culture, though at the moment, I’m particularly interested in the impact of ethnic and Anglicized birth names on the racial identity of Asian Americans. As a sophomore in the College, I’m pursuing an English major with minors in Sociology and Global Medieval Studies. Outside of UScholars, I co-run Penn Reads, write for Penn Appétit, and manage a small knitwear business.
