I am interested in the intersections between genetics and design. More specifically, I seek to understand how these seemingly disparate subjects can work to inform each other. I worked in the lab of Dr. Russell Debose-Boyd in 2019 at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the department of molecular genetics to study the UBIAD1 gene and its role in the regulation of cholesterol and Schnyder Corneal Dystrophy. I also previously worked in the lab of Dr. Jay Horton at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center to analyze cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism. Through this research, I seek to understand the ability of biological design to enhance the realm of genetics. Outside of my research, I am a graphic design mentor for Rebel Ventures at the Netter Center, the design editor of 34th Street Magazine, and a designer and illustrator for the Daily Pennsylvanian.
