Hi! My name is Khue and I’m a senior majoring in Earth and Environmental Science and minoring in Asian American Studies. When I first came to Penn, I had no research experience and didn’t know how to start. Luckily, I had the opportunity to participate in PennIUR’s Undergraduate Urban Research Colloquium and design a project with Dr. Chaeri Kim that combined my two fields of study, which I will continue working on under the ASAM Research Fellowship. I am researching NYC’s climate adaptation planning for extreme heat and their relationship to the Asian American communities in the city.

I’m excited to be an RPA this year and help break down some of the institutiona
l barriers that FGLI students and students of color face when it comes to research. If you want to talk about environmental/ASAM research or anything else at Penn, you can always reach out to me!
