Jennifer Kang
Like many others, I came to Penn with no prior research experience but a desire to be part of the research process and contribute to academic scholarship. I reached out to my RPA who guided me through the process of emailing professors and applying to the PURM program. Thankfully, I was able to find a lab through PURM, and I am happy to help you all with the process of finding a lab and narrowing your research interest!
Additionally, I am a senior majoring in Sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences. I am currently working on my honors thesis about the fluidity of race and ethnicity as an identity amongst second generation Chinese Americans. As a pre-med with a social science major, I have experience doing research in both fields, so please feel free to reach out about any questions surrounding that or anything else related to research.
