Hayden Scholars

Given the significant uncertainty about University research operations under COVID-19, we cannot be assured that the Hayden Scholars program will go forward or under what conditions it might operate. This decision will be based on guidance from the University when we receive it. However, we would like to be ready to proceed in the event that we can. Applications for the Hayden Scholars program will be accepted on a rolling basis with no deadline. We will review applications when we know that the program will proceed, and communicate to all applicants when the review will begin.

Each year the College of Arts and Sciences and CURF fund approximately twenty-five summer research internships for University of Pennsylvania students in the humanities and social sciences. Internships provide undergraduates with the opportunity to work in a cultural, historical, or archival setting.  These full-time (35 hrs/week) internships are for a period of ten weeks and include a financial award of $4,500. The award will be disbursed in two equal installments on June 30 and August 31.
