Awarded annually for the best undergraduate essay on any topic related to South Asia. The award will be for $300 and competition is open to all students of the University of Pennsylvania. There is no set number of pages or format for submissions. Writings may be prose, poetry, research, or scientific papers as long as the subject involves South Asia. Papers should be submitted by April 23, 2021 by pdf via email to Rachael Hickson at email@example.com.

The Project on Borders and Boundaries in World Politics has openings for up to six paid undergraduate researchers. This project is concerned with how and why humans demarcate the international space between “us” and “them.” It contextualizes international border architecture, infrastructure and institutions as expressions of various social, political and economic anxieties associated with globalization. This research team works on a broad range of questions relating to “bordering” in world politics.
The California Innovation Program is a fully-immersive learning experience that will offer an unprecedented exploration into this phenomena occurring in the world’s fifth largest economy. To investigate how exposure to this dynamic environment drives businesses to push the boundaries of traditional manufacturing, participants will meet with the land’s manufacturing entrepreneurs—leaders of Made by California who dare to construct new possibilities for industries. They will also take a behind-the-scenes look at manufacturing processes to get deeper industry knowledge.

Entry Point!, a signature program of the AAAS Project on Science, Technology and Disability, is a national effort to discover and develop talent among undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who demonstrated a talent and interest in pursuing a STEM career. The primary goal of the project is to increase the diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce at the professional level. Entry Point! recruits, screens, and refers qualified candidates to company and university research program partners for 10-week summer internships.
