Project Summary

During my time in the lab, I learned a multitude of skills, but I also came to understand that science can be not so clear-cut. There are many times when you feel that you are doing so small or unimportant, but it all connects to the bigger picture of what you’re trying to accomplish. There are also times when mistakes are made, but I’ve learned that it’s one of the biggest parts of research. Also, being able to work in different environments, at both the lab and the orchard, really broadened my perspective in terms of what type of research can be done. I loved being able to interact with people and collaborate on the work. From this, I’ve gained a large appreciation for the scientific method in research, and am very happy with everything that I’ve learned.
