My University Scholars research focuses on qualitative analyses of communist heritage sites in the former Eastern bloc. I am particularly curious about public opinion regarding the status of these sites and what this might suggest about economic policies in these areas moving forward. My interest in this topic came out of my volunteer research for the Penn Cultural Heritage Center at the Penn Museum, through which I have worked on projects involving recognition of California's indigenous tribes and the preservation of cultural sites in Iran. I am a founding member of Penn Justice Democrats (formerly Penn for Bernie) and a contributing writer for Fenjan, Penn's undergraduate Middle East journal.
