My research interests include: behavioral sleep medicine, chronic insomnia, mindfulness/ meditation as a treatment for chronic insomnia, understanding social functioning in people on the autism spectrum, and stress neuroscience. Currently, I am a Research Assistant at the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program where I am involved with a treatment of cancer-related fatigue and partial reinforcement of zolpidem therapy for insomnia study. Additionally, I am working on my independent research study/ thesis in this lab, with Dr. Perlis and Dr. Muench, that focuses on mindfulness and sleep continuity (i.e.,whether a lack of mindfulness is associated with increased risk for, or intensity of, insomnia). Moreover, I am a Clinical Research Assistant at the Brodkin Lab, where I am involved in a randomized controlled trial of a cognitive-behavioral program to support social functioning in adults on the autism spectrum. I am also the Chair of the South Asian Women's Space, leader and board member of the Penn Association for Gender Equity, and board member of the Penn Hindu Jain Association.
