My research interests include nanotechnology and the optical properties of materials. My work in the Quantum Engineering Lab under the direction of Dr. Lee Bassett applies MATLAB image analysis to explore new materials for single-photon emitters, a core component of future quantum technologies. I leverage basic optical properties to design efficient screening techniques, and I will apply my method to streamline the discovery and characterization of new emitter systems. Previously, I devised a background correction algorithm in MATLAB to uncover obscured emission in irradiated diamond. This project was completed with ESE 290/291: Introduction to Research Methodology, a course designed to scaffold an independent research project.
