It has been an incredibly beneficial experience for me to work as a research assistant in the Department of Statistics. I am interested in the applications of advanced statistical and computing methods in public health and social science. Topics in statistics including causal inference in observational studies, Bayesian multilevel modeling, and functional data analysis especially appeal to me. Several projects that I have immersed myself into include studying the association of neighborhood racial compositions and gun homicides, analyzing cerebral malaria pathogeneses, and detecting chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology. I really appreciate CURF for offering me terrific resources and supporting my research. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about getting involved in research as an undergraduate, seeking for resources in CURF, or learning statistics in general, and I will try my best to help!
