I am a student-researcher in the Heller Lab at the Perelman School of Medicine, where I investigate the molecular relationship between stress and up-regulation of the nerve growth factor Nr4a1. My research interests lie primarily in understanding the biological mechanisms of ailments that disproportionately affect black and brown folx, with a particular focus in mental illness. I am the current Chair of the Penn Initiative for Minority Health and Co-External Events Chair for Penn Neuroscience Society, where I aim to integrate science and society in reducing disparities for largely-overlooked communities in healthcare.
