My research pursuits at Penn have always allowed me to engage in topics that I am interested in that I might not have been able to take a class in. I'm very interested in urban development so I loved working as a research assistant at the Lauder Institute working on international urban informal settlements during my freshman year. That summer, I conducted my independent research on urban transportation and social inclusion in Medellin through Wharton's Social Impact Research experience. During my sophomore year, I was a fellow at Perry World House where I worked with a team researching remittance data in the Philippines to create policy suggestions for economic development. This year, I am a co-president of Wharton Undergraduate Research Board and would love to talk to Wharton students interested in research about the wide variety of opportunities to pursue their interests even if they do not seem "business-like." Feel free to reach out to me about how to get started in research as well as doing independent research abroad.
