When I started at Penn as a freshman, I constantly heard upperclassmen talk about their rich, rewarding research experiences, and I knew I wanted to get involved. The inital process was a little overwhelming, but with help from CURF, I was able to find a lab that broadened my research interests, gave me amazing learning opportunities, and challenged me.

Now, I work with the Reilly lab on the Molecular Epidemiology of Severe Sepsis in the ICU (MESSI) study, a clinical research study that aims to better understand organ failure in sepsis. Working in a lab has been one of my most fulfilling and educational experiences at Penn, and I’d encourage everyone to look into getting involved with research, even if you’re not confident it’s for you.

Outside of research, I’m involved with a few campus publications like PennScience, The Daily Pennsylvanian, and Penn Appetit. Shoot me an email if you have questions or want to talk about research or Penn!
