Two years ago Professor Jennifer Prah Ruger authored Global Health Justice and Governance. Now, in the midst of a pandemic, Prah Ruger finds herself once again examining the ways that the United States, and the world at large, fall short of providing health equity. Penn Today's Kristina Garcia sat down with Professor Prah Ruger to talk about health equity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Professor Prah Ruger sees the current global crisis as both a wakeup call, evidence that health and health equity are worthwhile investments, and an opportunity for global unity: "COVID-19 has made it clear that we are all interdependent.
