Benjamin Franklin Scholars
Professor Beavers

BFS Professor, Herman Beavers, has been appointed faculty director of Civic House! Professor Beavers has taught the BFS seminar August Wilson and Beyond, sometimes alongside Professor Suzana Berger, for several semesters (the duo will be teaching it again this fall). The course brings together Penn students, West Philadelphia residents, and other Philadelphia community members with the goal of writing and performing original works. Beavers succeeds Professor Walter Licht, founder of the Civic Scholars program and faculty director of Civic House since 2002. Read more about Professor Beavers' appointment on Penn Today.
