Opera Philadelphia, called “one of the most creative and ambitious companies in this country” by the New York Times, is offering one hybrid internship opportunity during the summer of 2024:

The Marketing and Digital Content Intern will work with the Marketing and Communications staff on digital products and marketing campaigns. Specific duties for the Marketing and Digital Content Intern may include:

  • Creating digital multimedia and marketing content for the website and social media.
  • Using Wordfly email marketing software, edit eblasts based on Opera Philadelphia’s email style guide, email best practices, and staff feedback.
  • Research and help set up partnerships, working with established partners and cultivating new ones.
  • Updating websites (including event listings).
  • Writing, research, and proofreading.
  • Video editing.
  • Possible graphic design projects based on experience.
  • Assisting in the Community Initiatives and Development departments and providing other institutional support as needed.

Skills  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with social media and digital content management.
  • Website CMS experience.
  • Video editing and production.
  • Ability and agility to work under pressure, to adapt easily to changing situations  and priorities, and to meet multiple deadlines and goals simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail.

Intern reports to Director of Marketing and Content Director.

We encourage applicants who are interested in the company and gaining experience in the performing arts industry but may be interested in additional areas or tasks. The focus and duties are subject to change.
