Mentor Areas

Research Interests: Molecular Imaging; Breast Cancer; Quantitative Cancer Imaging; Clinical Trials.

Description:

My laboratory works on both animal and human molecular imaging of cancer. Through the use of novel radiotracers, we study the biology of cancer with the goal of developing non-invasive tools capable of predicting and measuring response to targeted cancer therapy. Several specialized imaging programs are used for advanced analysis of PET images.  Responsibilities would be project dependent, but may include data entry, data and image analysis, programming, and database management.

Preferred Qualifications

Research opportunities for undergraduates largely focus on image and data analysis, best suited for students with an interest in biology, medicine, and translational research. A background in engineering, applied mathematics, or computer science would be useful. Familiarity with basic scientific imputing and data analysis is required. Computer programming skills, such as with Matlab, would be useful as well.
