Benjamin Franklin Scholars

After having him as a student in the Integrated Studies Program, Classical Studies Professor Ralph Rosen took on Jacques Thompson as an undergraduate summer research intern to study what has come to be referred to as "immoral humor." Jacques analyzed performances by comedians Dave Chappelle and Louis C.K. and presented his research in a poster as part of the CURF 2020 Fall Research Expo. In addition to the confidence he gained from conducting research, Jacques says his discoveries about humor will be useful for his hopes of going to law school and being a politician in the future. This opportunity was offered through the Penn Undergraduate Research & Mentoring Program. Read more about Jacques' experience in Penn Today.
